Why Slice of Pie?

It’s my special interest!!!

I started my business because of my deep personal connection and commitment to the disability and carer realm, driven by my own experiences as an NDIS participant, support worker, and informal carer. But it wasn’t always this way!

Prior to all this I explored working in the ethical corporate finance industry. During that time, I co-authored a research paper in support of ethical financial investments. It helped charge the industry-wide shift towards sustainable finance in the superannuation industry. It was a great outcome.

However after seeing all the climate protests that followed, I knew I needed to be closer to my people, more involved, present for my community, and supportive of individuals through all the ups and downs of life. So I switched into disability support work, moving up into support coordination, and now here we are with Slice of Pie!

TL;DR My business is a reflection of my passion, empathy, and determination to improve the lives of NDIS participants, particularly those who are often overlooked, because I know what it feels like. And I know everyone deserves a slice of the pie.
